The gallery becomes the subject in Wundercamera; an exhibition that explores the nature of museums, collections and display through the lens of fifteen artists who use international galleries and museums as their inspirational source.
The art works explore every aspect of the exhibition process, from planning to installation and audience interaction. Wundercamera provides an illuminating view of the ways in which cultural venues display their works as well as providing a glimpse behind the scenes and the interactions between audience and museum.
The exhibition was first shown at the PM Gallery and House between 22 November 2013 – 11 January 2014, and is curated by Museum Clausum.
During the course of its showing at the Holden Gallery, the curators will re-order and re-curate the work as part of a process of opening up alternative viewpoints on the same subject matter.
