Karen Knorr To Take Part in Tate Liverpool: Women Mentors

Two-day mentorship event at Tate Exchange Liverpool

Open Eye Gallery and LOOK Photo Biennial in collaboration with Fast Forward: Women in Photography are running a 2 day mentorship event with talks, discussion and portfolio reviews.

Fast Forward: Women in Photography is a research project based at University for the Creative Arts in Farnham. Since the inception in 2014 there has been 3 international conferences and a series of research workshops in Africa, India, Europe, South America and North America. Fast Forward have also led two mentorship project in China and Nigeria with our Chinese mentees exhibiting here at the LOOK Photo Biennial.

This mentorship event includes illustrated discussion on: the working histories of women photographers; creating and using new networks as well as working in the industry.

Talks will be from industry experts working as gallery directors, artists, academics and those commissioning new work, which include Anna Fox & Karen Knorr founders of Fast Forward: Women in Photography, Anne McNeill, Director of Impressions Gallery, Alicia Hart – industry expert and artist Tessa Bunney.

Karen Knorr will be highlighting the role women, curators, gallery directors, artists, theorists, filmmakers  had in nurturing and supporting her  photographic projects and vision in photography and how she in turn has used teaching as tool to nurture future talent.
